Have a proactive and organization coaching itinery pre-planned with a variety of drills, instruction, plays, areas of improvement, etc will go along way in maximizing the productivity of your practices.

One of the most important roles as a coach is instill the importance of mastering the basic mechanics of lacrosse - scooping, passing, catching. Without these aspects, the game becomes field hockey..and not a lacrosse game. Make it a habit to start off practice with good drills that work on the basics. Add some variety and make it fun. Always focus on working the fundamentals.
